being sick in America
I was talking to a friend of mine earlier. He is a med student at Nova Southeastern University. Last Summer, he went to the missionary trip to Jamaica. They gave a lot medical care and treatment to many people who need help. I am very proud of him and others who do that. However, here is what I don't understand. In U.S, there are a lot people who is sick, but can't afford medical care. No money, no doctor, no medicine either. Just going to visit a Doctor cost a lot of money, after the visit, going to Pharmacist cost a lot, too. I know it's not doctor's fault that we have to pay them. I totally agree with money for service, but I just think it cost a little too much. Especially when you don't have health insurance. Health insurance cost a lot, too. I used to pay 250 dollar a month for health, dental, and vision, which is not bad at all. That is part of my benefit package. About two months ago, I got fired from my job. Now, I have no income, no insurance, with sick child. I can speak with my future doctor friend, do my own research on Web MD, will that help my son? I truly hope it will. It's not Doctor's fault that they can't help me, it's my own fault that I don't have a job. Just hope god can help me.
